Meet Craig Shannon, DC: Chiropractor in Portsmouth, NH
Dr. Craig Shannon, DC is the owner and chiropractor of Shannon Chiropractic Clinic in Portsmouth, NH. Originally from Los Angeles, CA, he moved to Colorado after high school where he attended and graduated from Colorado State University with a BS in Exercise and Sport Science–Medicine. His studies there piqued his interest in helping others:
I wanted to be able to help before people were on the operating table. Being able to make changes early and put people on a better path with exercise and nutrition was the goal. Chiropractic care seemed to be the perfect fit.
He continued his studies in San Jose, CA receiving his chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 2003 with Cum Laude honors. He returned to Boulder, CO to pursue his professional chiropractic career, and–little did he know—to meet Robbin, a New Hampshire native who would eventually become his wife. After some time together, she was able to convince him to pull up his roots and relocate to the beautiful seacoast of New Hampshire. Dr. Craig is now a proud member of the New Hampshire population and couldn’t be happier! Additionally, Dr. Craig and his wife welcomed their first child, a beautiful, happy and healthy baby boy named Connor, in November of 2016. Their second amazing baby boy, named Ethan arrived in April of 2019.
I love being a chiropractor in Portsmouth, NH. The city itself and the surrounding towns have so much charm. I keep a running list of all the places I hope to visit and activities to check out. I especially enjoy being so close to the ocean once again!

When Dr. Craig isn’t treating patients, he enjoys staying active. He grew up on the soccer field, but also enjoys volleyball, golf, snowboarding and hiking. Leading such an active life style, he empathizes with the aches and pains that go along with living life to its fullest.
We all want to enjoy and participate in our lives and that begins with taking care of our bodies. Proper alignment of the spine allows the nerves and muscles to work at optimum efficiency. It lets the body heal itself and function the way it is meant to. Where taking a pain killer will mask any pain you’re experiencing, chiropractic can remove subluxations—getting to the root of the problem—allowing the body to return to normal. The effects of chiropractic care are amplified when experienced in addition to exercising, stretching, eating right and getting the proper amount of sleep. I truly love helping my patients stay healthy and active leading to a fuller and happier life.
